What AI Says About Us

Out of curiosity, I asked Copilot what we should remember from the articles I’ve written on design over the past 20 years. Here’s a summary of the main ideas found in my articles, and how AI allows us to take stock of the coherence or incoherence of what we write, what we’ve done with it, what should be remembered, and what we’d prefer to forget. —

🧠 1. Design as a driver of societal transformation – Design is not limited to aesthetics: it is a strategic tool for transforming society. – It advocates a vision of the designer as an agent of change, capable of influencing uses, behaviors, and economic models. – The designer must be ethically committed, aware of their impact on the world. —

🚀 2. Entrepreneurship and Innovation – Guellerin encourages students to move from idea to action: an idea is only valuable if it is implemented. – He promotes entrepreneurial awareness among designers by building bridges with business and engineering schools. – The School of Design offers dual degrees to train hybrid profiles, both creative and managerial. — 🧑‍🏫

 3. Reinventing Education in the Age of AI – In his article “The Upside-Down Stage,” he questions the role of the teacher in the face of tools like ChatGPT and DALL·E. – He believes that AI is disrupting traditional learning methods: the teacher is no longer the sole holder of knowledge. – He calls for a redefinition of human intelligence and a rethinking of educational objectives: fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and the ability to ask the right questions. —

🌍 4. Ethical Leadership and Social Responsibility – Guellerin advocates for ethical leadership in design, where decisions must be guided by human and sustainable values. – He advocates for the social responsibility of designers, who must integrate environmental, social, and cultural issues into their projects. —

📚 5. Publications and Influence – His writings cover a variety of themes: design thinking, education, social responsibility, innovation, and humanism. – He is an active contributor to magazines such as Office & Culture, La Revue du design, and Metropolis Magazine.
